MEET QUAVANTA

Next up on our #WhyIRide series we have Lexington rider, Quavanta. He works at HopCat, which is popular among UK alumni, and uses Uber to get around. He took a few moments to share with us why he rides.

When did you start riding with Uber and how did you hear about us?

Earlier this year. I heard about Uber when it was first launching here. It showed up on the news and they were talking about how Uber was going to revolutionize the way people travel. It’s a life saver, honestly. There are a few times where I’ve even Ubered from my house to Nicholasville, Kentucky.

What made you start riding with Uber?

It was late one night and a good friend recommended that I use Uber. So, I downloaded the app and requested a ride.

How often do you ride?

About once a week.

Why do you use Uber and how is it helpful to you?

It helps me out a lot when I don’t have anyone who can take me where I need to go.

What makes you feel safe about riding with Uber?

The security features. I like that the drivers arrive and call me to make sure they’ve got the right person, and that it shows the make and model of the car. You always know who is pulling up. They know your name and you know theirs. There’s never been a time that I’ve had a change in driver or pickup unless Uber notified my phone.

What occasions do you use Uber?

When I need a ride to work every now and then and when I need rides home from going out.

What is your favorite feature in the app?

Security features and the way the accounts are set up.

What is your favorite Uber option (product) and why?

uberX. But I like that you can choose between vehicles like uberXL.

What is your favorite place to Uber to?

To work.
