MEET JOSH

Next up on our #WhyIRide series we have Louisville rider, Josh. Working in retail, he is also a makeup artist which has him traveling to Kentucky, Tennessee, and Indiana; he uses Uber wherever he goes. He took a few moments to share with us why he rides.

When did you start riding with Uber and how did you hear about us?

I’ve been using Uber for years. My best friend Todd told me about it when we were in New York. I wish I had thought of it first! Since then, I use it religiously. It’s so easy to use; it’s mindless.

What made you start riding with Uber?

I was losing close friends to drinking and driving. Using Uber is the socially responsible thing to do. My grandmother always ingrained in me that to risk your own life is one thing but to risk the lives of others is not fair at all.

How often do you ride?

Probably 4 times a week.

Why do you use Uber and how is it helpful to you?

It’s easy and when I’m in a big city that I don’t know how to navigate, I know my Uber will. I travel a lot with work so it’s helpful because I can get lost easily. I have no sense of direction.

What makes you feel safe about riding with Uber?

I feel safe because I think everybody goes with the same general rule of mutual respect and knowing that it’s better than what I would do myself if I’ve had a couple drinks.

What occasions do you use Uber?

Work, travel, holidays, weekends, sporting events, festivals, Pride, everything.

What is your favorite feature in the app?

I love when I’m in certain cities and I can use uberPOOL to share a ride. You get in a car with a stranger who’s doing the same thing and you can strike up a conversation!

What is your favorite Uber option (product) and why?

uberPOOL for sure.

What is your favorite place to Uber to?

The bar or the airport. It takes such a headache out of going to the airport. You don’t have to park your car or try to find it later.
