Today we’re excited to reintroduce Visa Local Offers, a way for Uber riders across the U.S. to earn Uber credits by spending at nearby restaurants, shops, and local businesses with the eligible U.S. issued Visa card on their Uber account.

Visa Local Offers is available from the Uber app, where riders can explore thousands of offers from featured merchants. The best part? There are no promo codes or coupons to manage. Once enrolled in the program, when you spend with your eligible Visa card at featured merchants, Uber credits will automatically start to add up in your Uber account.

Riders will need the latest version of the Uber app and an eligible U.S. issued Visa card on their Uber account to enroll in Visa Local Offers. Once your card is added, it’s simple to get started:

  1. Open your Uber app and tap the bottom of the screen to see your messages
  2. Scroll down to the ‘Visa Local Offers’ message
  3. Tap ‘Get Started’ and then tap ‘Count Me In’
