Spreading #UberLove to Hospitals on Valentine’s Day
Written by“I think you have the wrong room,” said a new mom in the maternity ward at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital as an Uber employee walked in bearing a box of roses and a LOVE t-shirt.
There certainly was no mistake! After a day of surprising special someone’s and being wingmen to secret admirers in 18 cities world wide, Uber made one last round of complimentary rose deliveries to Valentines who spent their special day in a hospital.

New mommies, nurses and doctors, children and their parents in local hospitals in DC, Dallas, Denver, Philadelphia, Boston and Atlanta were all smiles when Uber’s #RomanceOnDemand took over their floors and hospital rooms. One nurse at the Boston Children’s Hospital broke down in tears of joy, saying she had never received roses on Valentine’s Day before. The children at Denver hospital were thrilled to receive their new life-size Ubear. Uber delivered flowers to: Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children and Medical City Dallas Hospital in Dallas; Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia; Boston Children’s Hospital in Boston; Children’s National Medical Center in DC; University of Colorado Hospital in Denver; Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital in Atlanta.

For one Uber employee, this act of love really hit home. Dallas General Manager Leandre Johns had the opportunity to deliver roses to Medical City, the very hospital where he was born.
“It was an opportunity for me to give a little back to the hospital and staff that ushered me into this world!” he said.

Post holiday, we’re still full of love knowing that we were able to play Cupid yesterday and be a part of these precious moments. For the employees at Uber, our service is about more than transportation. It’s about being able to touch people’s lives — be there when you need to get home, you want to surprise a loved one, transform an ordinary experience into something a little more extraordinary. Check out more photos of the Uber love that went around yesterday!
