There’s something wonderful about how simple cheese and tomato sauce on pizza is. It kind of says “hey, I don’t mess around with all the frills and I’m still delicious.” One of our favorites comes from an unsuspecting Downtown LA hotspot: Bottega Louie. Each pizza is cooked to crusty-perfection in an 800-degree brick oven and topped with soft mozzarella, pecorino Romano, tomato sauce, basil and fresh oregano.

Vegetarian
You’ll have no problem eating your veggies with this versatile flavor. If you’re looking to get your five servings in, head to Pieology, who serve up a mean Rustic Veggie pizza, loaded with peppers, corn, onion, and other goodies, all on a whole wheat crust.

Prosciutto and arugula
For fans of salty flavors this combo is hard to ignore. The Restaurant at Mr. C’s “Pizza Mr. C” does not disappoint, featuring a golden crust baked to perfection and topped with warm tomato sauce, burrata, rucola, and Prosciutto Crudo di Parma.
