UberEATS Celebrates Black History Month

In honor of Black History Month, UberEATS celebrates the city’s diverse culture by highlighting restaurant partner Greg Tillery, owner and operator of We Dat’s Chicken and Shrimp. Below, he shares his inspiring journey from food truck entrepreneur to opening the only black-owned restaurant on famous Canal Street. Greg dishes on how he built a unique platform for giving back–by serving up food and faith every day.
“I was working in corporate America as a district sales manager. They laid off over 2,000 people and while it didn’t affect me financially because they didn’t lay me off–but it affected me both mentally and in my heart. “
Known all around the Big Easy for his contagious positivity, Greg is also a local celebrity for his original Wuzzam Wings. On Thursday, February 16th, UberEATS will donate an amount matching the proceeds from sales* of every order of Wuzzam Wings to Son of a Saint–a non-profit dedicated to providing mentors for young men in New Orleans.

In addition, once hearing about the personal impact the recent tornadoes had on Greg’s friends and family, we wanted to help. In addition to the donation made to Son of a Saint, UberEATS is making an additional donation of $5k to GNOF’s ‘Helping Our Neighbors’: Tornado Relief Fund to aid in recovery efforts in the local community.
