As the longest government shutdown in U.S. history drags on, more than 800,000 furloughed government employees are facing significant financial hardship. Those struggling to make ends meet are the TSA employees who ensure we’re safe when we fly. They’re the National Park Service rangers who protect our parks, monuments and historical sites. And they’re the Food and Drug Administration inspectors who ensure the food our families eat is safe. It has been more than a month since many of these dedicated employees received their last paycheck.

Many civic-minded leaders have opened their doors to help these workers—and we want to do our part, too. Today, we’re proud to partner with José Andrés and World Central Kitchen to make it easier for federal workers to get to and from their resource centers, which are providing furloughed employees with food, household supplies and financial guidance. We’re happy to help guests of these centers with their transportation costs.

Thousands of workers have been impacted by this shutdown—and for their sake we hope the government reopens soon. Until then, we will continue to look for ways to support them and their families.

If you are an impacted government employee, contact World Central Kitchen for details about this promotion.
