Uber and Cargo are Teaming Up to Raise the (Protein) BarWritten by
You never quite know what you’ll need when you’re on the move. An energy boost on your way to the big meeting, a phone charger when you’re down to 7%, or a much-needed snack at the end of the night—your time in an Uber is sometimes the only chance you have to refuel and recharge.
For all these scenarios and more, Cargo offers drivers free center-console boxes filled with goods that riders can order right from their phone. When it’s safe to do so, the driver hands over the item.
Through partnerships with major brands like Kellogg’s, Starbucks and Mars Wrigley Confectionery, Cargo lets drivers offer riders both free samples and items for purchase. In fact, one million items have already been distributed with Cargo.
Today, Uber is partnering with Cargo to help the company better support drivers as they turn to Cargo for extra income and to enhance the rider experience. Starting in San Francisco and Los Angeles, drivers will now be able to pick up their Cargo box and get hands-on support right at our Greenlight Hubs, where they already come for on-boarding and in-person help.
Cargo is also available in New York City, Boston, Minneapolis, Washington D.C., Baltimore, Atlanta and Dallas. As we grow the partnership to these other cities, we’ll listen to drivers and riders to help Cargo create an amazing experience for everyone, whether you’re behind the wheel or in the passenger’s seat!
