Portland, the day has finally come– and boy are we excited to share the news with you. Yesterday, your city leaders passed a historic vote that makes ridesharing permanent in Portland. It’s been a long road, but we’re honored to be a part of a city that is a hub for transportation, technology, culture and creativity.

Today is a new beginning and we’re committed to keep Portland moving in every way possible. We look forward to creating thousands more economic opportunities for Portlanders, launching unique bike-friendly products like UberPEDAL and partnering with local organizations like Special Olympics Oregon, the Oregon Humane Society and the Timbers, to name just a few.

We wouldn’t have gotten this far without you, our riders, and the entrepreneurs who partner with us: people like Julia, a mother who used to drive an ambulance and now owns an independent massage business. Or David, a veteran who uses Uber’s flexibility and income to take care of his growing family and pay his bills.

Thank you for making your voice heard. Portland is now a city on the move and we can’t wait to take you where you need to go. Uber on!
