We want to thank veterans and their families for all they’ve done for our country, and we’re now making it easier for riders to do the same.

Veterans and their families can easily allow Uber to share their military affiliation with riders through the app. To verify your military affiliation and opt in to showing your riders that you are part of the military community, follow this step-by-step process:

Step 1: In the Uber Driver app, go to Account and select Settings Select Affiliations, then click Verify next to Military.

  • Note: If you don’t see Affiliations, try downloading the most updated version of the app.

Step 2: You’ll be taken to ID.me to verify your military status.

  • Note: ID.me is a third party verification service

Step 3: Once you are verified, ID.me will ask for permission to share your military affiliation with Uber.

Step 4: Once permission is granted, you will be asked if you would like to display your military affiliation to your riders.
