The holidays are finally here, and we need your help to keep the season full of cheer!

We know that driving under the influence incidents spike during the holiday season. In fact, during the 2014 holiday season, 1,500 people were arrested in Texas for driving while intoxicated. One Dallas driver-partner wants to keep drunk drivers off the road, and he’s asking the community to join him.

Meet Dallas Driver-Partner Gerald Ogden

Gerald became all too familiar with the pain inflicted by drunk drivers when his friend was hit by someone who chose to get behind the wheel after drinking. In an effort to raise money for her medical bills, Gerald, along with several friends, signed up to drive with Uber. It didn’t take long for him to realize the impact he could make, and he took a pledge to continue drive on the Uber platform to combat drunk driving.

The Pledge to Protect

By taking the Pledge to Protect, you’re agreeing to keep the streets safe by making responsible decisions throughout the holiday season. Here are the steps to take the pledge:

  • ENTER CODE ‘P2PDFW’ into the promo section of your Uber app 
  • Once you’ve entered the code, you will see a pop up message, confirming your pledge to keep the streets safe
  • For the first 500 pledges, Uber will donate money to Dallas Challenge to support their efforts to deter young adults from driving under the influence of substances
