There are many reasons as to why individuals choose to drive on the Uber platform. Whether you’re paying off student loans, saving up for a family vacation, or fundraising for a cause close to one’s heart, partnering with Uber is a flexible way to earn an income.

Meet Greg. Greg has been an Uber Columbus driver-partner since the fall of 2015, joining the platform as a way to meet his personal fundraising goals for a cause near and dear to his heart: Pelotonia. Pelotonia, a grassroots bike tour founded in 2008, raises millions of dollars each year to fund cancer research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute.

Since 2009, Greg has been committed to Pelotonia’s efforts to end cancer through a combination of volunteering and riding. The reason why he rides is simple – “Each of us, if not personally affected by cancer, doesn’t have to look very far to find someone who has been.” Greg, like many others, rides for one reason and one goal: to end cancer.

Greg has found that Uber provides an easy way to raise money on his own schedule while also allowing him to  meet interesting people along the way. “It’s an easy way for me to make money that I can designate to my ride for Pelotonia without even thinking twice about it; I can do it when I want to.”
