On the Road with the Uber Jobs Tour: Rochester
Written byLast Wednesday, we continued our Jobs Tour with a stop in Rochester where we stood with Assembly Majority Leader Joe Modelle; State Senator Rich Funke; former Lieutenant Governor and Rochester Business Alliance CEO and President Bob Duffy; Greater Rochester Enterprise President and CEO Mark Peterson; Pastor Marlowe Washington; and small business owner John Urlaub, to unveil a Rochester Economic Impact Report.
“Rochester can only stand to benefit from the job growth and economic impact that Uber provides” – Former Lt. Governor and Rochester Business Alliance CEO and Pres. Bob Duffy
According to the report, we project more than 1,000 jobs will be created in just one year if our ridesharing service were allowed operate. And, 40,000 safe, reliable, and affordable rides would be completed each month.

Rochester residents have already been showing eagerness for our service. And Rochester residents also showed their interest in partnering with us at the Jobs Fair we hosted where area residents were invited to learn about the economic benefits of driving with Uber.
Each week nearly 2,000 people in the Rochester area open the app looking for a ride.
Nearly 300 people interested in partnering with Uber attended to learn more about the platform and to ask our team questions.

We look forward to educating more interested New Yorkers about the opportunities we can bring to their city as we continue our Jobs Tour throughout the state.
