We’re partnered with Colorado Ballet this holiday season and have been lucky enough to catch up with Kevin Hale, avid Uber rider, professional dancer and cast member of The Nutcracker. Learn more about his life as a dancer and how he uses Uber!
What are your top 3 Denver go-to spots?
The Monkey Bar on Sante Fe Drive, Ophelia’s and Avanti in the Highlands!
How long have you been dancing?
Since I was 5, so 16 years now!
When did you know you wanted to be a professional ballet dancer?
At about the age of 8, I started taking ballet seriously and at 10 I was accepted into my first professional ballet school.
Do you have any pre-show rituals?
I actually don’t! I like to just try and be as relaxed as possible. If I do have any ritual, it’s that I like to be on stage quite early and just sit and mentally prepare for the show.
What is your favorite part of being on stage?
I love that you can become someone or something else in each different production that we do – I really enjoy that and find it euphoric.
What is your favorite ballet/role?
My favorite ballet – that’s a tricky one. I don’t know if I have an ultimate favorite but I have always wanted to dance in the British choreographer, Wayne McGregor’s Infra. I also had a lot of fun dancing in Ben Stevenson’s Cinderella as one of the step sisters.
What is your favorite Uber experience?
This is a hard one as I use Uber nearly every day. I think my favorite Uber trip was when I was home in London and the driver was amazing and managed to get around all the London traffic and had food and all sorts of stuff for me in the car!
If Uber could deliver you ANYTHING in under 5 minutes, what would you want it to be?
I’d probably say pizza – pizza in 5 minutes would be amazing!
