Two years ago today we launched Uber New Jersey, providing riders with access to safe, reliable transportation across the Garden State. From Trenton and Jersey City to Morristown and beyond, New Jersey was – and is – on the move.

In that time, New Jersey riders have relied on Uber for more than 9.5 million trips. From late night runs to early morning commutes, more and more people across the state are turning to Uber to meet their transportation needs.

Since our launch, Uber riders and driver-partners have traveled over 66 million miles together and taken more than 9.5 million trips across New Jersey.

This movement couldn’t have happened without our driver-partners. These are the men and women who move us all day long. Today, we have more than 13,000 New Jersey residents who drive on the Uber network in New Jersey.

For many of these drivers, Uber offers a way to supplement their existing income, allowing them to work as much as or as little as they need to reach a specific goal, like saving up for a vacation or making ends meet between jobs: 48% of driver-partners in New Jersey work less than 10 hours per week. Going forward, we’re excited to bring more driver-partners to New Jersey and offer a flexible way for more people to advance their personal and financial goals by partnering with Uber.

And our driver-partners have helped us travel a long way. Since we launched in November 2013, Uber riders and driver-partners have traveled more than 66 million miles together across the State. With that many miles, you could ride round trip from Cape May to Hoboken 214,655 times, circle the globe 2,670 times, or even travel to the moon and back 139 times.

New Jersey never stops moving, and since our launch, neither have we.

As we look ahead, we like what we see: New Jersey’s energy keeps us moving. We’ll continue providing access to safe, reliable transportation while at the same time partnering with New Jersey on initiatives that improve our communities – whether it’s making the streets safer in Evesham, promoting the the use of designated drivers with the HERO Campaign, or helping fight hunger in North Jersey, we’re ready to do our part.

Here’s to another great year. Uber on, New Jersey.
