Moving the Jersey Shore
Written byThe arrival of fall marks the end of our second full summer moving riders along the Jersey Shore and we are excited by the explosive growth and increased reliability we have seen in the area.
Since we launched in the area in May 2014, Uber has connected nearly 200,000 riders with more than 570,000 rides at the Shore. More and more residents and tourists in the area are using Uber to get a safe, reliable and affordable ride.
Over the course of the last year, we saw huge growth as the number of trips increased by more than 5X compared to last year.

With wait times decreasing, reliability at the Jersey Shore has significantly improved since we launched. This summer, riders were able to get a safe, affordable ride in about 4 minutes, compared to an average of 7 minutes last summer.
We also found that demand for Uber rides peaks between 7pm – 2am, when people are out at bars and restaurants. More and more people are choosing Uber to a get a safe, reliable ride rather than get behind the wheel after a night of drinking, making Jersey Shore roads safer for everyone.
