As 2015 draws to a close, we’d like to take a moment to think about how transportation is evolving.  While Honolulu residents have become accustomed to getting a ride within minutes at the tap of the button, it wasn’t always so easy.

If you lived in Kalihi or Salt Lake, transportation options might have been ten to thirty minutes away – if they were even available.  Thanks to the many Honolulu residents who take advantage of flexible income opportunities on the Uber platform, those days are starting to feel like a distant memory.

Now instead of plotting a complicated transportation plan, waiting outside on a dark street corner, or wondering where your ride is coming from, people across Honolulu can expect a safe, reliable, and affordable ride just a few minutes away – granting newfound independence and control.

Since the community welcomed uberX as part of the fabric our island, more riders and drivers continuously join the Uber platform, pushing wait times lower and lower.  In the densest parts of town, we see average wait times below five minutes, and that affordable luxury is steadily spreading through Central and Windward Oahu.  Whether that means a little more time to talk story or a chance to have some dessert you probably shouldn’t, we’re proud to give some time back to you.
