Meet Katrina, Your Uber Driver-Partner
Written byKatrina has always been determined. After graduating college, she knew she wanted to move to New York City and find a career. Not knowing exactly what she wanted to do, she started applying for office manager positions throughout the city. After going to one interview, she promptly told the hiring manager she’d start work tomorrow and didn’t give them a chance to say no.
She worked her way up, moving from office manager to marketing assistant to a director of marketing position. “I knew what I wanted and I went for it,” Katrina said. Following her career to LA, it wasn’t until she met her current husband that she decided what she really wanted to do was be a mom.
Ten years ago she left the corporate world to raise her family. With her son now in his last year of high school, she has found herself with free time on her hands, “I wanted something where I could meet new people and get out of the house,” she said, “Uber has helped with both of those things, plus I’m seeing new parts of the city I’ve never seen before!” Aside from helping Seattleites get around, she spends time volunteering at her friend’s non-profit. She’s looking to go back to work part time in a role that will allow her to give back to the local community.
“Seattle is my home. I’m always amazed at how beautiful this place is. We’re so lucky to live here,” Katrina said with a smile.
