Danbury is home to over 80,000 Connecticut residents, making it the 7th largest city in the Nutmeg State. Home to the terminus of the Danbury branch of the Metro-North, Danbury is anything but the end of the line. Whether it’s fresh air you’re after, with a hike through Bear Mountain Park, or dinner and a stroll through CityCenter, there’s plenty to do and see year round.

This year, we’ve seen steady growth in the number of Uber trips happening in Danbury compared to the rest of Connecticut. Since July alone, riders have taken nearly 4X the number of trips to or from Danbury, while trips in the rest of the state have doubled.

As the volume of trips increased, the number of driver-partners who live and drive in Danbury also grew. With more cars on the road, Uber has become more reliable—median pickup times in Danbury have dropped from 8.8 minutes in January, down to 5.7 minutes today.

Nearly 100 partner-drivers hail from the greater Danbury area. By the end of 2015, we expect that over 50 more will join the Uber platform, creating more transportation options for Connecticuters looking for a reliable ride.

We’re committed to continuing the growth we’ve already seen, and are excited to see the platform create more economic opportunities for residents of greater Danbury.
