Florida Governor Rick Scott announced his support today for a statewide law that would allow ridesharing companies like Uber to expand access to safe, reliable, and affordable transportation options. During his news conference, Governor Scott expressed support for a statewide ridesharing bill, adding:

“We should be very supportive of innovation companies like Uber …”

“We need to make sure we have competition. That’s what we want in our state.”

We thank Governor Scott for supporting safe, reliable transportation options—as well as the tens of thousands of Florida entrepreneurs that are earning millions of dollars on the Uber platform. Now is the time for Florida to join the more than 20 states across the country that have enacted sensible ridesharing legislation.
