Driven Women in Fargo – Jane
Written by‘There are 3 colleges in town…and Uber is a very important part of keeping the community safe.’
To celebrate International Women’s Day and History Month, we wanted to share the story of a an inspiring female driver partner in Fargo.
Jane, a partner since August of last year, was encouraged to drive on the Uber platform by her son, because he thought she would enjoy it.
He guessed right, and Jane says that her favorite part about driving with Uber is getting the chance to meet new people, and getting those people where they need to go safely. ‘There are 3 colleges in town,’ Jane said, ‘and Uber is a very important part of keeping the community safe.’
For women who are interested in driving with Uber, Jane would offer this advice: ‘Be confident. I’ve never felt unsafe, and I’ve enjoyed every rider.’
Once Jane’s children grew up, she and her husband became avid motorcycle enthusiasts. Jane used to be a nurse, is currently a preschool teacher, and loves to dance and rollerblade in her spare time.
Women are seeking new opportunities that give them the flexibility they need to balance family time, work, passion projects, and education. The Uber platform is an exciting way for partners to earn on their own terms, and get to know the communities they live in even better. We’re excited to empower women in the cities we serve globally. Along the way, we look forward to learning and getting to know more amazing partners like Jane.
