Destination: Coffee
Written byIf you’re like us, coffee is a daily must. From big conglomerate chains to small, local businesses, the options are endless all over Kentucky. We took it upon ourselves to find the best, unique coffee shops in Louisville and Lexington, and wanted to share our favorite spots that are special to our cities. The weather is getting chillier so riders, grab some joe and cozy up. Drivers, take a break from being on the road and stop into one of these fine establishments. Distinguished cafés offer a welcome breather from traffic, and can be had anywhere; you just need to know where to look.
Louisville
Looking for an organic fair trade coffee? Look no further. Heine Brothers’ is for you. Since ’94, they have been committed to operating responsibly and sustainably. Did we mention that this is the place to get coffee in Louisville?
Please & Thank You is a Louisville sweet little gem. And by “sweet”, we mean they have cookies. Fresh baked from the oven, they’re a perfect pairing with their delicious, hot coffee on a chilly day. It’ll have you saying, well, “please” and “thank you”.
With locations in Louisville and Indiana, Quills puts a unique spin on coffee. With beautiful latte art and masterly crafted drinks, there is something for everyone here.
Lexington
Not your typical coffee shop experience but High on Art & Coffee doesn’t disappoint. There are tons of art pieces to peruse while you sip on your brew.
A few miles from campus, Southland Perk has plenty of comfy seating and exudes a relaxing and quiet environment. Unless, of course, they have live music playing, which is every Saturday. They also serve ice cream and have board games you can play. What more could you ask for?
You won’t regret making the trip to Coffee Times. Roasting their own beans, they have a large selection of specialty drinks and a cozy atmosphere with a retro touch.
Cheers!
