Choose a Safe Ride in Utah This Independence Day
Written byIn 2013, Utah crash statistics show that driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs (over-the-counter, prescription and illegal) caused 76 fatalities, 1,605 injuries and 2,506 crashes. About one in three traffic deaths in the United States involve a drunk driver. There is a lot of room for improvement. And we believe if we bring together our state’s leaders, organizations, and local community members, we can work to make local roads safer– especially late at night.
This Fourth of July we are proud to announce that Uber has teamed up with the Zero Fatalities Campaign in Utah to work together toward a state where a safe, reliable ride is always within reach and drunk driving crashes become a thing of the past. Choose Uber as a safe ride home this event season. Don’t drink and drive, take Uber instead.
RIDING TOWARD A SAFER FOURTH, TOGETHER
We’ve seen again and again that when people have a reliable way to get home safely at the push of a button — no matter the time or place —they make safer choices. This is why we are working with Zero Fatalities to reduce DUIs. This holiday if you are a new user, consider the first ride on us! Use the new user promo code ZEROUTAH for a free first ride up to $15. For every new user promo code application, $5 will be donated back to Utah DUI Enforcement.
With safe transportation alternatives like Uber available in Utah, no excuse is a good excuse to drink and drive.
