Independence Day brings people together to share the joy of this great country and the freedoms we enjoy. It is a time of hot dogs on the grill, drinks in the cooler, and a splash in the water. This weekend, we also celebrate the UberMILITARY driver partners who have served in the armed forces. Their commitment to country and community is evident when in uniform and when behind the wheel. Let’s meet a few of the UberMILITARY driver partners in Oklahoma who make all this possible!

Meet Alex upload_thumb

Alex is new to the Uber platform, with about two weeks of driving with Uber under his belt. He heard about Uber from a friend who he works with. His friend came back from Germany and started driving with Uber, and Alex decided that he wanted to drive too. Alex is active in the Air Force with over six years in the service. He tells us that he enjoys the flexibility of making his own hours and getting to work whenever he wants to. Alex goes on to tell us, “I love getting to meet people around the city. I also love the ability to network and learn more things about the city that I otherwise wouldn’t have been able to, if weren’t driving with Uber. I really enjoy meeting people and driving with Uber is a great way to do that. For fun, I enjoy working on cars and getting car parts to work with. Driving with Uber has allowed me to buy more parts and do this more.” Thanks, Alex

timothy-okMeet Timothy

Timothy is a veteran of the Air Force and has been driving on the Uber platform for over a year. He tells us his experience in the Air Force taught him many valuable skills about how to interact with people and treat people from all walks of life. He is also a very experienced driver. After Timothy left the Air Force after 20 years of service he drove an 18-wheeler across the country. He proudly tells us that from 1988 – 2008 he had over two million accident-free miles during his truck-driving career. As a disabled vet, Timothy enjoys being able to meet people while driving and being able to make money on his own terms. Thanks, Timothy!

We are all grateful for the service of these members of our communities and their efforts to keep us safe, on and off the road.
