Uber launched in Las Vegas one year ago this week. And what an incredible year it’s been.

Nevada’s support of Uber has continued to make all the difference. We can’t thank our riders and driver-partners enough, especially to those of you who have been there with us on this ride since the beginning.

In one year, hundreds of thousands of Nevadans have chosen Uber as a safe and reliable transportation option, tens of thousands of local driver-partners have expanded their income earning potential by completing trips, and visitors from 73 different countries landed in Nevada and opened the Uber app to request a ride.

In one year, we’ve partnered with community leaders like the Nevada Department of Public Safety, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department on campaigns advocating to make Nevada’s roads safer. We continue to educate Nevadans about the importance of making a responsible choice after a night out.

We launched innovative services like uberESPAÑOL and UberEATS, and also offered up ice cream, kittens, helicopter rides to music festivals, and exclusive meet and greets with DJs like Hardwell – all at the tap of a button.

None of this could have been done without Uber’s amazing driver-partners. Driver-partners are the heart and soul of Uber. People tell us that driving on the Uber platform is liberating – there’s no schedule, no boss, and better opportunities to make additional income at the touch of a button. Don’t take our word for it, just ask Kathy Kovacic, one of Nevada’s very own driver-partners:

“I started driving with Uber because I was looking for something exciting to do after work. I’m a nail technician during the day and drive with Uber because I love the interactions I have with other people from all over the world. I drive not only for the amazing people I meet, but because it’s given me the opportunity to set my own hours, be my own boss, and allows me to earn a little extra money to help my husband get through school. I was even able to save up to go on my first cruise.”

Nevada, it’s been an incredible year. Thanks for coming along for the ride! We look forward to continuing to grow with you all in the years to come.

Uber on,
