Last Tuesday, Governor Maggie Hassan, the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, Uber Chief Advisor David Plouffe, and Saint Anselm College President Steven DiSalvo joined us to celebrate New Hampshire driver-partners at our first-ever “Work on Demand” event in the Granite State.

Governor Hassan addressed a crowd of over one hundred driver-partners, state policymakers and community groups, emphasizing the importance of protecting flexible work opportunities for everyone across the state.

“Ridesharing services such as Uber are leading the shared economy and can help make our state more attractive for students, young professionals, entrepreneurs and visitors alike, which will help our families, businesses and economy continue to grow and thrive.” – Governor Maggie Hassan

Driver-partners in attendance, like Chris H, spoke to the important flexibility offered by the Uber platform: “Because of the money I’ve made driving with Uber outside of my 40 hour a week job, I’m now able to achieve many goals that were not previously possible, like buying a ticket to visit my parents in Arizona for Thanksgiving.”

As the state legislature considers ridesharing regulations, we’re hopeful New Hampshire will soon join the twenty-six other states that have passed sensible statewide regulations so we can keep the Granite State moving forward.
