Time to set down the sunscreen and pick up those pencils—school is back in session. While some Louisville-area students have already gathered supplies for their first day, many others still need basic items to make their year successful.

To help, we’re launching UberSCHOOL in partnership with the Kids in Need Foundation and Yoobi. On Friday, August 19, request a free Uber to your location to collect school supply donations. All items will be delivered to Portland Elementary, a partner of the Kids In Need Foundation National Network, and distributed to students in the area.

This week, coordinate your office, organization, or group to host a back-to-school drive and collect new or unopened school supplies.

For every UberSCHOOL pickup, Yoobi will double your impact by donating a Yoobi item to a classroom in need.*

How it works

Open your Uber app this Friday, August 19 between 11am-2pm
Select “SCHOOL” from the bottom slider
Request a vehicle to pick up your donations

Friday is a few days away, but we’re here to remind you when it’s time to donate.

The most important items to collect are pencils, washable markers, spiral notebooks, composition notebooks, 2-pocket folders, crayons, colored pencils, and glue sticks.

Don’t just go back to school, give back to school

Keep giving this back-to-school season. For every Yoobi item you purchase, a Yoobi item is donated to a classroom in need, right here in the U.S. Use code UBERSCHOOL to get 20% off your purchase now through September 5, 2016*. Learn more about their charitable mission at Yoobi.com.
