A Permanent Home for Uber in Burlington
Written byThis past Tuesday, the Burlington city council voted 9-3 to pass an ordinance that will create a permanent home for ridesharing in the city. Thank you for sharing your stories and speaking up about what ridesharing and Uber have meant for you.
We also want to thank Mayor Weinberger for his leadership and the members of the Burlington City Council who stood up for innovation, economic opportunity and transportation choice: Sharon Foley Bushor, Sara Giannoni, Kurt Wright, William Mason, Karen Paul, Tom Ayers, Adam Roof, David Hartnett, and Joan Shannon.
THANK YOU, MAYOR + CITY COUNCILORS!

WHAT’S IN THE ORDINANCE:
- Uniform regulations for ridesharing driver-partners
- $1 million commercial liability insurance coverage during all Uber trips
- Federal, state and local background screening requirements
- Rules to ensure riders in Burlington have access to a reliable ride when they want it
Same ride, same experience, with new rules that will keep Uber in Burlington. We look forward to continuing to provide access to safe reliable rides and economic opportunity across the city!
