With winter setting in and nothing but cold days ahead, there is no time like the present to explore the indoors at some of the best museums that Boston has to offer. Check out five of our favorites; from the historical to the artsy, these institutions have a lot to offer.

Isabella Stewart Garner Museum

Step out of the cold and into this intimate space. The Gardner Museum’s collection of gallery rooms are made up of art from the famed socialite, Isabella Stewart Gardner’s, private collection. Most of all, this is a gorgeous place to get away.
