There’ll be plenty of merriment to go around this St. Patrick’s Day (even if you miss out on the Dropkick Murphys performing their annual show at the House of Blues), and a few of Boston’s finest restaurants and watering holes will be serving green beer to mark the occasion. If you’re looking to have a memorable holiday while painting the town green, consider requesting an UberBLACK for yourself and your friends and arrive in style wherever you go. Here are some great restaurants and bars serving celebratory green beer in Boston

Where to get green beer in Boston:

1. Pour House Bar & Grill

With three fully stocked bars, the Pour House Bar & Grill will be ringing in St. Patty’s the right way, and they’ll have enough green beer for an army of leprechauns. But there’s some inexpensive otherworldly bar treats to sample while you’re here, so go straight for a basket of wet fries with turkey gravy and follow up with some of their tasty Jamaican jerk wings.

2. 21st Amendment

There’s a great deal of history that can found within the walls of Beacon Hill’s 21st Amendment, and it’s been said that John F. Kennedy himself would write some of his speeches by the fireplace. Of course, our 35th president wasn’t noshing on a plate of their loaded nachos or one of their outstanding thin crust pizzas with artichokes and prosciutto. After your requisite green beer, take aim at one of their signature cocktails, the hill eggnog made with the aforementioned Christmas dairy beverage, Jameson Irish whiskey, and nutmeg.

3. The Playwright

One of South Boston’s best brunch spots, The Playwright is the perfect combination of neighborhood hang and sports bar. The casual atmosphere combined with signature pub food like steak frites or a loaded mac and cheese served with a bratwurst and an IPA cheese sauce will leave patrons salivating. But on St. Patty’s, don’t be afraid to dig into their classic Guinness beef stew served in a warm bread bowl. If you can’t make it out for the holiday, you can always go to one their enthusiastically attended viewing parties of The Bachelor on Monday nights.

4. Corrib Pub

With two locations in Boston, the Corrib Pub is one of the best Irish taverns in Beantown. The pub was opened in 1969 by native Roscommoner Hughie Bligh, and he named it after the breathtaking Lough Corrib in County Galway. Corrib’s down-home vibe is perfect for sipping on a pint of Guinness while enjoying a plate of fish and chips or an Irish curry. And look no further than this tavern for a proper Irish breakfast, served with Irish bacon and sausages, black and white pudding, and of course, Irish baked beans.
