Aeroplan + Uber Data Sharing
When you link your Uber and Aeroplan accounts, Uber and Aeroplan will share personal data about you with one another. This helps us better understand your preferences so we can send you more personalized offers to earn and redeem points. The shared data will be protected, used and disclosed in accordance with the Aeroplan Privacy Policy and the Uber Privacy Policy. The sharing will continue as long as your accounts are linked. If you unlink your accounts, the sharing of data will stop, and Aeroplan and Uber will delete the data they collected about you from each other while the accounts were linked, unless continued retention is permitted or required by law.
If you link your accounts, Aeroplan will share with Uber:
- General Air Canada travel activity, for example, whether you are a Leisure or Business traveller, your approximate number of flights in a certain time period, and your preferred destination (e.g. United States, Europe, Asia-Pacific, etc.)
If you link your accounts, Uber will share with Aeroplan:
- Uber Rides transaction information, such as the dates of your Uber ride and points earned, the type of ride (e.g. Premium vs. Non-Premium ride, Airport vs. Non-Airport ride), the airport and terminal (if applicable) the ride was taken to or from (if applicable)
If you link your accounts and used an Aeroplan co-brand credit card to activate the Uber Pass promotional offer, Uber will share with Aeroplan who will in turn share with the relevant Financial Institution (e.g., TD, CIBC or American Express) the following:
- General information about your interaction with the Uber Pass promotional offer, such as whether you activated the offer, the date that you activated the offer, whether you made your first Uber Eats order as part of participating in the offer, and the date that the Uber Pass from the offer expires
