Uber Taxi / Uber Premier Reservation Service Terms and Conditions

Hours Available for Booking
- Uber Taxi: Reservation can be booked from 90 days before the scheduled departure date until 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time.
- Uber Premier: Reservation can be booked from 90 days before the scheduled departure date until 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time.
Fees
- Fees are fare and reservation fee. Separately, expressway/toll fees, parking fees, and other fees will apply where applicable.
- Fare
- For reservations to Haneda/ Narita airport
- Minimum fare is 5,000 yen (including taxes). Even if the fare is less than 5,000 yen, a minimum fare of 5,000 yen (including taxes) will be charged. Please see the Airport Flat Fare page here for the details of the fares.
- However, this does not apply to Haneda Airport <> Minato-ku, Chuo-ku, Meguro-ku and Koto-ku.
- For reservations for Uber Premier
- Minimum fare is 5,000 yen (including taxes). Even if the fare is less than 5,000 yen, a minimum fare of 5,000 yen (including taxes) will be charged.
- For reservations for Uber Taxi
- Trip fare is calculated using the meter. No minimum fare will be charged.
- For reservations to Haneda/ Narita airport
- Reservation fee
- It is determined for each car dispatched and is displayed as a "Reservation Fee" in the "Fare Breakdown section that appears when you tap the "i" mark in the lower left corner of the screen after selecting a car model in the application. 700 yen for Uber Taxi including reservation to airport; minimum 1,500 yen for Uber Premier including reservation to airport. All of these amounts include taxes.
- The booking fee must be paid concurrently with the fare.
- If you choose “Cash” as the payment method, you cannot use this Reservation Service both for Uber Taxi and Uber Premier (you cannot use Uber Premier including but not limited to this Reservation Service). If you choose “Credit card” or any of the other accepted payment methods, and when you have been matched with a driver 24 hours before the scheduled departure time, an authorization hold (※) will be made at the relevant fare and booking fee against the designated payment method by Uber. If you have not been matched with a driver 24 hours before the scheduled departure time, a credit inquiry will be made at the relevant fare and booking fee when you are matched with the driver.

Steps to booking a reservation / Matters to Note
- After you complete the booking procedures in the Uber app, you will be matched with a driver, and a notice will be sent to you. When you receive the notice that you have been matched, a vehicle-dispatch contract will be concluded and your booking will be confirmed. Matching with a driver begins seven days before the scheduled departure date.
- At the time when you complete the booking procedures in the Uber app, the vehicle-dispatch contract will not yet have been concluded.
- After completing the booking procedures, you can check the booking details in the Uber app. However, you cannot change your booked time unless you cancel your booking. A canceled booking may incur a cancellation fee as described below.
- Please note that even if your booking is confirmed, we may not pick you up at the booked time due to unforeseen circumstances such as weather, the physical condition of the driver, or traffic conditions. To avoid a delay due to unforeseen circumstances during your trip, we recommend that you book your ride by scheduling your departure time well in advance.
Steps of Cancellation/Boarding
- For Uber Taxi reservations:
- You can cancel for free at any time prior to receiving your driver details or 60 minutes before your scheduled pick up time. If you’ve received your driver details and you cancel less than 60 minutes before your scheduled pick up time, you’ll be charged a cancellation fee of 1,200 yen.
- For Uber Premier reservations and reservations to airport:
- cancellations made the day before the reservation date will be charged less than or equal to 40% of the full fee, and cancellations made the day of reservation date will be charged less than or equal to 50% of the full fee (see table below for details.). However, if you haven’t been matched with a driver yet and your reservation has not yet been confirmed, you can cancel the ride for free.
- The details of cancellation fee are as follows.
- For reservations to airport, the cancellation fee is generally 2,000 yen for Uber Taxi and 3,480 yen for Uber Premier, but may be less. Details are as follows.
- For reservations to non-airport, the cancellation fee is 2,600 yen.
- The driver will usually arrive at the designated location before the scheduled departure time. Even if the departure time is earlier than the scheduled departure time, you may depart earlier than the booked time if the driver has already arrived at the designated location.
- After both you and the driver have arrived at the designated location, you can add or change destinations in the Uber app. If you added or changed your destination, please notify the driver about the change.
- The driver will wait for you at the designated location for a certain period of time (5 minutes for Uber Taxi and 15 minutes for Uber Premier) after the scheduled departure time. However, if you do not arrive and that period of time passes without making a phone call or sending a message to the driver, you will be deemed to have canceled the vehicle-dispatch contract. In that case, a cancellation fee will be charged based on these Terms and Conditions.
- If the driver foresees any fraud, personal danger, etc. from your behavior, we may cancel the vehicle-dispatch contract (before arriving at the destination). For the details in such cases, please contact our Support Center.
