작성자:이젠 서울을 떠올리면 빠질 수 없는 꽃담황토색 택시. 칙칙한 도로를 밝게 수놓은 서울의 택시는 약 72,000대 이상이 운행되고 있다고 하는데요. 서울 곳곳에서 시민들의 발이 되어주고 있는 택시기사들의 효율적인 비즈니스를 위해, 그리고 이용자에게 또 다른 옵션과 편의를 제공하기 위해 택시기사들과의 제휴를 통한 서비스 uberTAXI를 선보입니다.

uberTAXI는 프리미엄 리무진 차량 연결 옵션인 UberBLACK과 라이드쉐어링 모델인 uberX 이후, 서울에서 Uber 스마트폰 앱을 통해 차량을 요청할 수 있는 세 번째 교통 옵션입니다. UberBLACK과 uberX는 각각 리무진 회사와 운전면허를 소지한 일반 운전자들이 활동할 수 있도록 연결하는 반면, uberTAXI는 서울의 영업용 택시와 제휴하여, 이용자에게 교통 편의를 제공합니다. 다른 Uber 앱의 옵션과 동일하게, uberTAXI 역시 높은 품질의 서비스와 신뢰성 및 안정성을 확보하기 위해 이용자와 기사들은 서로에 대한 정보를 사전에 확인할 수 있고, 목적지 하차 후 서로에 대해 평가를 할 수 있습니다.

당분간 Uber 앱을 통해 택시를 요청할 경우 별도의 금액이 발생하지 않으며, 택시 요금은 정부가 정한 일반택시 요금과 동일하게 적용됩니다. 반면, Uber는 일정기간 동안 택시기사들에게 건당 2천원의 유류 보조금을 지원할 예정입니다.[h4 class=”” span=””]요금은 어떻게 지불하나요?[/h4]
현재는, 기존의 Uber 서비스와는 달리 하차 시 현장에서 직접 결제를 하셔야 합니다.
아직 Uber 플랫폼에 등록된 택시가 많지 않아 요청이 원활하지 않을 수 있지만 Uber와의 협력에 대해 택시기사님들은 긍정적일 것으로 믿고 있으며 이에 서울시도 uberTAXI 서비스의 도입을 환영할 것이라 기대하고 있습니다.

With 72,000 taxis on the road, Seoul has been suffering from an oversupply of taxis and decrease in riders. In an effort to improve the taxi drivers’ business and the experience of riders, we are happy to kick off our 3rd service, uberTAXI.

While UberBLACK and uberX partner with limousine companies and personally licensed drivers, respectively, UberTAXI will be partnering with Seoul’s taxi drivers to provide the same great Uber experience. Each taxi driver will be given a mobile device or download Uber’s app on his or her own mobile device after registering, which will allow them to receive requests from riders seeking a safe and convenient taxi ride. Just like all of Uber’s app options, riders and drivers will have all of each other’s information in advance, be able to easily contact enough, and rate one another at the end of the trip, to ensure quality, accountability and safety.

Open up the same Uber app, slide the circular icon on the bottom of the screen to uberTAXI and request!
[h4 class=”” span=””]How much is uberTAXI?[/h4]
For the time being, there will be no additional fee for riders to request a taxi via Uber. The fares will be the same as regular taxi fare set by the central government – whatever shows up on the meter at the end of your ride. To encourage participation for taxi drivers, Uber will pay the driver an additional KRW 2,000 for each ride initially.

Unlike other Uber services, fares will not be transacted through the app. You need to pay the taxi driver directly before you get off your ride.
