What Is Uber Comfort?
Uber Comfort is part of a broader commitment to raising the standard of quality across the platform. It is designed to give riders a consistently excellent experience; newer vehicles, more space, and the elevated service they are actively seeking. For eligible drivers, it represents access to a premium product category with more earning potential.
This is not just a product update. It is an opportunity to position yourself at the top tier of the Uber experience in Mombasa.
Do You Qualify?
If you are currently active on UberX, Select or UberXL, your vehicle may already meet the requirements. Here is what you need to know:
- Model Year: Your vehicle must be a 2014 model or newer.
- Vehicle Inspection: A new inspection through CarScan AI is required to verify the aesthetic condition of your vehicle. You will need to score above 70 to qualify.
- Vehicle Model: Not every post-2013 model will automatically qualify. Your vehicle must offer sufficient headroom and legroom to meet the comfort standard riders expect.
If your vehicle does not meet these criteria, there is nothing to worry about. You will continue operating as normal within your existing category, with no disruption to your trips or earnings.
What Comes Next
You are currently eligible to fulfill Comfort requests, provided your vehicle meets the required model and year specifications. However, it is important to note that you have to complete vehicle inspection with Scans AI within the next three months in order to maintain eligibility for the Comfort category. Do not wait, completing your inspection early means you are ready to go from day one.
