How to sign up and link accounts
1. You must be a Cathay member
If you are not a Cathay member, you can sign up for free today.
2. Scan this QR Code on your phone
If you already have the Uber app, this QR code will lead you to the account-linking page in the app.
If you don't have the Uber app, this QR code will lead you to download the Uber app in the App Store or on Google Play.
3. Open your account settings in the Uber app
Scroll down to the Rewards section and choose Cathay.
4. Link your accounts
Follow the instructions on the account-linking page. Now you’re ready to start earning Asia Miles on Uber Taxi rides.
Frequently asked questions
- How can I earn Asia Miles?
To earn Asia Miles with Cathay, you must have a Cathay membership account and an and Uber accounts and link them. Both are free to sign up. After linking, you’ll earn 40 Asia Miles on Uber Taxi airport rides to and from Hong Kong International Airport or 20 Asia Miles on all other Uber Taxi rides. Terms and conditions apply.*
- How do I link my accounts?
You can link your accounts by following the instructions in the Uber app (go to the steps above). Or you can visit cathay.com for more information. If you’re not already a Cathay member, you’ll need to sign up and create an account before you can link it to your Uber account.
- How many accounts can I link to?
Only one Uber account can be linked to one Cathay membership account, and the accounts must belong to the same person. Accounts can be unlinked at any time, after which you’ll no longer be able to earn Asia Miles on Uber Taxi rides.
- How will I know if my accounts have been successfully linked?
You’ll receive a success message in the Uber app after the accounts have been linked.
- Where else can I earn Asia Miles?
You can earn Asia Miles with other Cathay partners. Visit Cathay.com to view a list of partners.
- Is there a minimum or maximum spending amount?
No, you can earn Asia Miles on any qualifying Uber Taxi trips taken within Hong Kong, regardless of the amount you spend.
- When will my Asia Miles be credited?
Your Asia Miles will be credited in 24 hours after you complete your qualifying Uber Taxi trip. Retrospective claims are not permitted; you must have linked your Uber account to your Cathay membership account before taking the ride.
- What can I do about missing Asia Miles from a journey I took with Uber Taxi?
If you’re missing Asia Miles, please allow 24 hours from the conclusion of your ride for them to be awarded. If you’re still missing them after that time, please contact Uber through the Help section in the app to investigate whether your accounts were linked, you’ve taken a qualifying ride, and that the time to award has passed. If the Asia Miles are missing and you’ve met all the criteria, Uber will raise a missing Asia Miles request with Cathay and the Asia Miles will be credited within 4-6 weeks.
- This offer (“Offer”) is limited to individuals who (a) have enrolled as Hong Kong-based members of the Cathay Membership programme, and (b) have linked their Cathay Membership account to their Uber account within the Uber App (a “Linked Account”).
- To earn Asia Miles, you must (i) be an “Eligible Rider”, (ii) select Cathay as your primary loyalty offer partner to earn within your Uber App (“Earning Partner”) and (iii) complete a “Qualifying Transaction” during the Promotion Period.
- A “Qualifying Transaction” means a Qualifying Uber Taxi Trip transaction completed by the Eligible Rider using their Linked Accounts within the Uber App, in accordance with one of the Mileage Offers herein, with Cathay selected as their Earning Partner for such transaction. This Offer is applicable to all Uber Taxi ride options (including Meter Taxi trips). A “Qualifying Uber Taxi Trip” means Uber Taxi trips which are taken by the Eligible Riders within Hong Kong, and started and completed during the Promotion Period in order for the Eligible Riders to be eligible to earn Asia Miles. No Asia Miles will be granted for cancelled trips.
- By submitting your information and registering for a Linked Account, you agree to these terms, and agree that Uber and Cathay may use or share your information in accordance with Uber’s Privacy Notice and Cathay’s Privacy Policy, for the purpose of tracking and processing your Asia Miles into your Cathay Membership account and sending you targeted offers. Uber and Cathay may use anonymised, aggregated data for business analytics and offer optimisation.
- Uber App Users will be notified by email to be sent by Uber and/or Cathay when their Linked Accounts are successfully linked/set up (“Eligible Riders”).
- Mileage Offers on Qualifying Transactions: Eligible Riders can earn the following Asia Miles on taking the Qualifying Uber Taxi Trips as follows:
- (i) 20 Asia Miles on each general Uber Taxi trip (except for trips from/to the Hong Kong International Airport),
- (ii) 40 Asia Miles on each Uber Taxi trip taken to or from the Hong Kong International Airport, and
- (iii) #an extra 888 Asia Miles on the first ever Uber trip which is also taken with Uber Taxi in Hong Kong during the Promotion Period by Eligible Riders who are New Uber Users.
- “New Uber Users“ means new, first time users of the Uber app who have not taken any trips with their Uber account before and after successfully linking them to their Cathay Membership accounts during 12 February 2026 to 8 March 2026 (the “Promotion Period”).
- The Asia Miles reward will be calculated at the end of each day, and will be credited to the Eligible Rider’s Cathay Membership account within 24 hours after the Qualifying Transaction(s) has/have completed.
- Users may only have one account. If Uber has reasonable grounds to suspect that a user is creating fraudulent accounts and violating our General Terms of Use and/or Community Guidelines, Uber may suspend the users’ account, and the users will therefore not be eligible to participate in this Offer.
- Only one Uber account can be linked with one Cathay Membership account; both the Cathay Membership account and Uber account must be in good standing, in order to earn Asia Miles. You may link your Uber account to more than one eligible loyalty offer or program at a time, but you may only select and earn with one Earning Partner at a time. Individual transactions may only qualify for one loyalty offer at a time and cannot be combined. You may modify your Earning Partner at any time under the Settings section in the Uber App. Removing Cathay as your Earning Partner will not remove the Linked Account in your Uber App, but will prohibit you from earning Asia Miles on Qualifying Transactions under this Offer until you reselect Cathay as your Earning Partner. If you would like to switch between Earning Partners, please note that it may take up to one hour for such a change to take effect and you may not therefore earn under the relevant eligible loyalty offer or program during this period and additional restrictions may apply, see Earning Partner FAQs for more information. If you no longer wish to participate in this Offer, you may remove the Linked Accounts in your Uber App at any time.
- This Offer is an independent offer and does not run in relation to any other offers or campaigns offered by Cathay and/or Uber.
- All matters and disputes relating to the offer will be subject to the final decisions made by Uber and Cathay.
- The Cathay Membership terms and conditions apply.
- In addition to these terms, users are subject to any terms and conditions shown upon enrollment, including the Uber Terms of Use and all Cathay Membership terms and conditions.
- Offer(s) and associated terms and conditions are subject to change, and may be modified, suspended or terminated at any time without notice. Offers void where prohibited by law. Other restrictions or exclusions may apply. Determinations of eligibility are made in Uber’s and Cathay’s sole discretion. Uber and Cathay reserve the right to review and investigate all offer activities, and to suspend accounts or remove or amend miles for technical glitches or errors that result in an incorrect reward, suspected abuse, violation of any terms, or fraud.
- In case of any inconsistencies between the Chinese and English versions of these Terms and Conditions, the English version shall prevail.
