Introducing a new feature: Dispatch Fee
We’re introducing a new feature designed to make trip matches between drivers and riders even better. Our goal is to ensure requests go to the closest available drivers, making the system more efficient for everyone. Currently, when a trip is skipped, it is often sent to a driver further away, leading to longer travel times, which reduces efficiency for everyone.
Dispatch Fee is designed to prioritize drivers closest to the pickup, ensuring trips go to those best positioned to earn more with less travel. Our goal is to ensure requests go to the closest available drivers, making the system more efficient for everyone.
The Mechanics of Dispatch Fee
- The dispatch fee: For every primary trip offer you receive, you will be charged a small, fixed dispatch cost of 4 SEK (excluding dispatches via Trip Radar, or those received during an ongoing trip).
- 100% redistribution: Uber will not receive any money from this charge. 100% of the collected Dispatch Fees are used to pay drivers at the end of the week.
- The payout: At the end of the week, the total amount collected is divided by the number of completed trips. Each driver receives a payment based on how many trips they completed. The more trips you complete, the bigger your earning opportunity will be.
- Control is yours: If you are not ready to accept trips, we recommend going offline to avoid dispatch fees. You will never be charged a dispatch fee while offline.
A simple example
Imagine a week where 1.000 dispatches are sent to all drivers. Each dispatch costs 4 SEK.
- Total collected: 1.000 dispatches × 4 SEK = 4.000 SEK collected in total.
- Reimbursement rate: During that same week, suppose 500 trips were completed. 4.000 ÷ 500 completed trips = 8 SEK earned per completed trip.
Scenario | Dispatches Received | Trips Completed | Fees Paid (4 SEK each) | Earnings Gained (8 SEK each) | Net Weekly Impact |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
High Acceptance | 25 | 20 | 25 x 4 = 100 SEK | 20 x 8 =160 SEK | +60 SEK |
Low Acceptance | 25 | 5 | 25 x 4 = 100 SEK | 5 x 8 = 40 SEK | -60 SEK |
In simple terms: the more trips you complete, the more money you receive from the collected Dispatch Fees. Note: These numbers are fictional examples only; actual payouts depend on weekly marketplace activity.

Frequently asked questions
Why am I being charged additional fees?
The goal of the charge is to ensure that trips are distributed evenly among drivers and that you have a fair chance to accept trips that fit your schedule.
Is Dispatch Fee just another fee for drivers?
No, because Uber keeps 0% of these fees. It is a redistribution tool where 100% of the collected fees are used for making driver payouts at the end of the week.
How much is the dispatch fee and when is it charged?
A fixed dispatch cost of 4 SEK is charged for every primary trip offer you receive while online. You are never charged a dispatch fee while offline.
Which dispatches are excluded from the 4 SEK charge?
Dispatches received via Trip Radar, or those received during an ongoing trip are excluded from the charge.
How will I be charged for the dispatches?
The fee will be deducted from your weekly earnings. It will appear in your weekly earnings statement, where you can track both the charges and any reimbursements.
How is the weekly payout calculated?
At the end of the week, the total amount of fees collected from all drivers is divided by the total number of completed trips. Each driver then receives a payment based on how many trips they completed.
How can I track my earnings?
You can track your earnings, any dispatch fees charged, and reimbursements through your weekly statement and tax invoice. This information is also available in the app under the "Earnings" section. Additionally, we send you a weekly email summarizing your earnings and any applicable fees or refunds.
Where can I see the impact of Dispatch Fee on my earnings?
Costs related to the Dispatch Fee will be displayed on your weekly payment statements and invoiced as “Reimbursements and Service Fee Rebates” and Primary Dispatch Fee”.
