Within this vision, audio data collection is a strategic growth area. Projects spanning Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), Text-to-Speech (TTS), Speech-to-Text (STT), and Natural Language and Multimodal technologies (NLTM) present unique challenges in quality, scale, workforce management, and operational execution. Our team is building the technology and operational capabilities required to solve these challenges globally.

About the Role

As a Staff Program Manager, you will own large-scale audio data collection programs supporting some of the world's most advanced AI applications. You will translate customer requirements into scalable operational solutions, influence product and engineering roadmaps, drive adoption across thousands of freelancers, and ensure delivery against quality, timeline, and financial objectives.

You will serve as the primary point of contact for customers on program delivery, leading discussions on execution strategy, progress, risks, trade-offs, and outcomes. You will work across multiple countries, languages, and customer segments, partnering closely with Operations, Product, Engineering, Legal, Policy, and Sales teams to deliver complex programs at scale.

Success in this role requires strategic thinking, operational rigor, strong executive communication, and a willingness to dive deep into execution. 1. Own the end-to-end delivery and growth of strategic audio data collection programs.
2. Build and scale new collection capabilities, workflows, and operating models across geographies and use cases.
3. Influence product and engineering roadmaps to enable scalable and efficient program execution.
4. Lead complex, multi-country programs while meeting quality, timeline, compliance, and financial goals.
5. Develop strategies to engage and activate global freelancer networks.
6. Design scalable processes, governance mechanisms, and operational playbooks.
7. Establish and uphold standards for quality, privacy, trust, and compliance.
8. Drive alignment across Operations, Product, Engineering, Legal, Policy, Sales, and Marketplace teams.
9. Serve as a trusted advisor to customers and executive stakeholders on program strategy and delivery.
10. Identify new opportunities and help shape the future of Uber's data collection business.

---- What You Will Need ----

1. 15+ years of experience leading complex programs, operations, consulting engagements, or business initiatives.
2. Experience in management consulting coupled with hands-on implementation, operational leadership, or business-building experience.
3. Demonstrated success building and scaling zero-to-one capabilities, products, businesses, or operational models.
4. Proven ability to translate ambiguous customer or market requirements into scalable solutions.
5. Experience influencing product and engineering roadmaps to solve operational challenges at scale.
6. Experience leading large, distributed programs across multiple countries and geographies.
7. Strong program leadership, stakeholder management, and execution skills.
8. Exceptional written, verbal, and executive communication skills.
9. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a data-driven approach.

---- Preferred Qualifications ----

1. Experience in AI/ML data operations, data collection, data annotation, or human-in-the-loop systems.
2. Experience working with audio, speech, multimodal, sensor, mapping, or other data-intensive programs.
3. Experience in marketplace, crowdsourcing, logistics, or other distributed workforce environments.
4. Professional certifications such as PMP, PgMP, Prince2, Scrum, or equivalent.
5. Proficiency in one or more additional languages and experience working across global markets.
