Regional Operations Manager

Regional Operations, Operations
Mexico City, Mexico |
Santiago, Chile

About the Role

We are looking for a high-leverage operator to join the LatAm Ops Team, specifically overseeing Matching and Trip Radar—the core engines that connect millions of riders and earners every day.

You will sit at the high-stakes intersection of Data Science, Product Engineering, and Local Operations. You’ll be tasked with solving some of the most visible challenges in one of Uber’s most critical global regions.

What You'll Do

  • Own the Diagnosis: You won't just report on reliability issues; you’ll own the "why." You will conduct deep-dive analyses into marketplace failures across LatAm, identifying structural gaps in our matching logic.
  • Architect and review Experiments: You are the bridge to our Tech teams. You will review, challenge, and recommend experiments for our matching algorithms, ensuring that global product builds solve local LatAm complexities.
  • Operational Command: You’ll act as the strategic lead for local launches. You will align regional priorities with global product roadmaps, ensuring that when we hit "go" on a new feature, it lands with maximum impact.
  • Build the Future (Automation): We have no interest in repeating manual tasks. You will build the frameworks and automated tools that allow our team to scale, increasing our operational velocity.
  • High Visibility: You are working on the core of the Uber app. Your work on Matching and Trip Radar directly hits the P&L and is monitored by leadership daily.
  • Tech-Heavy Collaboration: You will be deeply embedded with Product and Engineering, influencing the roadmap of our most sophisticated marketplace tools.
  • Unmatched Growth: The complexity of the LatAm market provides a unique proving ground for anyone looking to accelerate their career in tech operations.

What You'll Need

  • 5 - 7 years of professional experience.
  • English proficiency.
  • The Analytical Edge: You have a "builder" mindset with the SQL/Python skills to back it up. You don't just find problems; you model solutions.
  • Technical Fluency: You can hold your own in a room with engineers. You understand how algorithms function and how small changes in logic ripple across a massive marketplace.
  • Stakeholder management: You know how to manage stakeholders across time zones. You can translate complex technical constraints into clear operational strategies for local teams.
  • Bias for Action: You are energized by big-impact projects and aren't afraid to take ownership of a launch that affects millions of users.
