Director, Strategy & Planning, Autonomous
About the Team
At Uber, we’re building a future where autonomous vehicles and human drivers seamlessly work together to make transportation more reliable, affordable, sustainable, and safer. Our vision is one of a hybrid future, with AVs operating alongside drivers and couriers, each bringing their unique capabilities to the table. As the largest on-demand mobility and delivery platform in the world, with our deep expertise in marketplace management, fleet utilization, and local operations — Uber is uniquely positioned to help AV companies deploy and scale their technology globally.
About the Role

We’re looking for someone who can understand problems from 30,000 feet as well as dive deep into the details. This role will work across multiple functions and teams in support of driving stronger business results for our Autonomous business. Some degree of technical depth on AV development, Uber’s marketplaces and/or experience working with our Tech teams would be beneficial (though not required to apply).
What You’ll Do

- Strategic Thought Leadership: play a key role in defining and making decisions about the strategic direction of AV as a key Uber priority. You will be expected to leverage technical depth on AV development and AV operations to evolve and articulate a compelling competitive strategy, defining the unique value we bring across the ecosystem, and help to communicate the strategy internally and externally.
- Drive Informed Decision Making: Develop a deep understanding of how decisions are made and AV strategy is evolving, and leverage that know-how to ensure we make high-quality, data-driven decisions about the future of our Autonomous business.
- Reporting and Governance: Take ownership of core Business-As-Usual reporting and governance rhythms, establishing structured frameworks to monitor and report on key performance metrics, and support planning cycles.
- Lead by Example: Be truth-seeking with data, set a high bar for the team on analytical rigor
- Act like an Owner: Use your role to help maximize value creation for Autonomous at Uber overall
