About the Role

This role sits in the Marketplace team within our Operations group. The Marketplace team sits at the crux of Uber’s two-sided marketplace, with our riders on the one side and our driver-partners on the other. Through optimal pricing decisions, the efficient and targeted use of rider promotions and driver incentives, and leveraging Uber’s powerful pricing and matching technology, we ensure smooth marketplace operations, optimal outcomes for both riders and driver-partners, and solid foundations for competitive and long-term growth.

You will be responsible for the competitive strategies, execution, and outcomes across a subset of Northern European markets, including ownership of key incentive levers, pricing, and broader marketplace initiatives.

What You Will Do:

These are some of the activities you can expect in your day-to-day:

  1. Develop and execute the vision, strategy, and tactics needed to grow our share of the category in our markets
  2. Analyze real-time and historical data to assess market trends, track competitor moves, and identify opportunities to optimize Uber’s position
  3. Devise, project manage, and execute marketplace, product, and incentive strategies to support business growth
  4. Continuously improve and streamline our recurring competition cadence and processes, looking for efficiency and optimization opportunities
  5. Investigate and resolve competitive or operational challenges by conducting deep dives and collaborating with cross-functional teams

  2. Data-savvy: You can interpret complex data, connect it to real-world implications, and make strategic recommendations. You’re comfortable in Excel/Google Sheets and can pull data with SQL.
  3. Problem solving: You like to solve problems - you can break down problems in a structured manner and use data-backed insights and critical thinking to solve them
  4. Bias for action: You can work in a fast paced environment where your work will be focused on taking action and delivering tangible impact to the business (e.g. increasing trip reliability, improving spend efficiency on deployed campaigns, converting rider preference to Uber, etc.)
  5. Structured and organized: You are a structured thinker and executor, with a keen eye and attention to detail, and it shows in your work
  6. You are fluent in English, both in written and verbal communications

Preferred Qualifications:

  2. Project management: You enjoy working on a variety of topics and are capable of project managing and moving multiple initiatives forward in parallel
  3. Communication: You have clear communication skills (verbal and written) to deliver insights and recommendations and to work with other team members
  4. Collaboration: You can collaborate and coordinate well with a mix of cross-functional teams to move projects and launches forwards
  5. Business acumen: You can prioritize effectively, recognize when business needs shift, and pivot quickly in response
