About the Role

As Country Manager, you are responsible for the strategy, growth, and P&L of the Uber Mobility business in Ireland. You are Uber's most senior leader on the ground, the face of the business, the engine of its growth, and the architect of its long-term success in one of EMEA's fastest growing markets.

This is a role for a bold, commercially sharp operator who moves fast, builds trust, and makes things happen. You will set the growth agenda for Ireland and forge the partnerships and relationships that matter. You will be working hand-in-hand with the Northern Europe Regional General Manager and acting as the connective tissue between Ireland and Uber's broader European leadership.

What the Candidate will Do:

Commercial Ownership

  1. Own the financial performance of Uber's Irish Mobility business, driving profitable growth with both ambition and discipline
  2. Navigate the trade-offs between growth and profitability with adaptability, proactively identify and escalate investment needs in response to competitive dynamics and market opportunity

Strategic Growth & Expansion

  1. Define and lead Ireland's mobility growth strategy in a dynamic, taxi-dominated market
  2. Unlock market penetration headroom through high-impact local partnerships and a marketplace that is reliable, affordable, and the clear first choice for riders and drivers
  3. Lead Uber's expansion into new cities and mobility categories (including EV adoption), ensuring every launch is seamless and every new market grows sustainably

Local Market Intelligence & Crisis Readiness

  1. Be Uber's sharpest eyes and ears on the ground, delivering timely, data-driven intelligence on market trends, competitive shifts, and emerging opportunities to regional leadership
  2. Own local crisis responses, coordinating stakeholder communications and operational adjustments swiftly, working in close partnership with the RGM on any national-level events

Stakeholder engagement

  1. Lead high-stakes policy and government relationships that are critical to Uber's ability to operate and grow in Ireland
  2. Work fluidly across Operations, Legal, Marketing, and Finance to ensure full regulatory compliance and operational excellence across all markets

Team Leadership & Culture

  1. Build and mentor a high-performing local team, fostering a culture of ownership and ambition
  2. Invest in your people by coaching and growing talent in order to achieve our goals

What the Candidate will Need:

  1. Min 8 years of leadership experience in strategy, operations, business development, or consulting, with a track record of operating at senior level and delivering results that matter
  2. A proven ability to define and execute bold growth strategies in fast-moving, complex markets
  3. Sharp commercial instincts and data-driven judgement, you know what moves the needle in a two-sided marketplace and can make tough trade-offs with confidence
  4. A natural cross-functional leader who gets things done through influence, alignment, and trust
  5. Knowledge of the Irish market; its regulatory landscape, competitive dynamics, and cultural nuances, is a strong advantage
