Senior Operations Manager, Sweden

Local Operations, Operations
in Stockholm, Sweden

About the Role

Uber is looking for an exceptional operator and leader to manage the Uber Rides operations in Sweden — one of our most strategically important markets in Northern Europe.

You will work closely with the General Manager for the Nordics as the de facto business lead for Sweden — setting the market strategy, driving growth across both sides of our platform (riders and driver partners), and building the partnerships and capabilities that will define Uber's future in Sweden.

This role is ideal for a curious, data-driven, and commercially sharp professional who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution — someone who can zoom out to shape a vision and zoom in to get things done.

What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points

---- What the Candidate Will Do ----

Own and Drive the Sweden Business

  1. Serve as the primary market lead for Sweden, accountable for growth, platform health, and overall market performance.
  2. Co-create the annual strategy for Sweden with the Northern Europe leadership team, then translate it into clear, measurable tactics and execution plans.

Grow and Engage the Driver Partner Community

  1. Design and execute driver partner acquisition, onboarding, and retention strategies using data-driven insights and creative programmes.
  2. Build and sustain a high-quality driver supply that meets the evolving needs of riders across Sweden.

Grow and Engage the Rider Base

  1. Develop and lead conversion and retention strategies for new and existing riders.
  2. Identify and unlock new use cases for Uber that expand our relevance in Swedish consumers' daily lives.
  3. Adapt, test and put a Swedish flavour on product rollouts to ensure they resonate culturally.

Build Strategic Partnerships

  1. Identify, develop, and manage strategic partnerships with both global companies and local Swedish organisations.
  2. Cultivate long-term relationships that strengthen Uber's value proposition and expand our reach in the market.

Lead Complex, Cross-Functional Projects

  1. Take end-to-end ownership of multiple strategic projects simultaneously, managing priorities, timelines, and stakeholder communication.
  2. Represent Sweden's interests clearly and confidently with senior regional and global stakeholders.

Collaborate Across the Organisation

  1. Work as an integrative partner with teams across policy, communications, product, marketing, legal, finance, and customer operations.
  2. Champion local market context within global and regional decision-making processes.

---- Basic Qualifications ----

Deep Cultural and Linguistic Fluency

  1. Native Swedish and professional English are mandatory. Beyond translation, you must possess a deep grasp of Swedish consumer behaviour and cultural tonality to build brand trust and navigate local policy environments securely.

Experience and Commercial Ownership

  1. Around 5–8 years of experience in a fast-paced environment. This could be in high-growth technology, management consulting, consumer, or  marketplace environments driving measurable commercial outcomes.
  2. Demonstrated experience owning a P&L, commercial budget, or significant operational domain with increasing responsibility over time.
  3. Experience working across multiple stakeholder groups, including senior leaders.

Marketplace Mechanics and Tech Acumen

  1. A genuine understanding of how high-volume, two-sided digital marketplaces operate. You must understand algorithmic efficiency, dynamic pricing and technology tools rather than traditional fleet management.

Data-Driven Commercial Execution

  1. Strong analytical intuition is required. You must be highly comfortable working with data to generate commercial insights and drive decisions, leveraging analytics tools or data visualisation platforms to assess business health and prioritize initiatives.
  2. A history of delivering complex, ambiguous projects on time and to a high standard within matrixed corporate environments.

---- Preferred Qualifications ----

  1. Strategic clarity: Ability to develop a coherent market strategy and communicate it in a way that aligns and energises teams.
  2. Communication and influence: Ability to communicate with clarity and adapt your style across diverse audiences, from driver partners on the ground to C-suite stakeholders globally.
  3. Relationship building: A natural ability to build trust and sustain meaningful partnerships, both internally and externally.
  4. Resilience and adaptability: Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to make sound decisions with incomplete information in a fast-moving environment.
