About the Role
We're looking for a growth-minded leader to drive earner acquisition and retention for Uber Eats Japan. In this role, you will own the top-of-funnel strategy for bringing new delivery partners onto the platform, managing everything from referral programs and paid performance marketing to geographic expansion and incentive budgets. You'll work closely with regional and global marketing teams to adapt proven playbooks for the Japanese market, while partnering with Legal to ensure all campaigns are compliant and capital-efficient.
What the Candidate Will Do
- Top-of-Funnel Growth: Drive top-of-funnel earner growth initiatives across multiple channels, managing referral programs, earner lifecycle retention, and paid performance marketing.
- Regional Collaboration: Collaborate with regional teams to revamp paid marketing strategies, creating improved brand consideration for prospective earners in the Japanese market.
- Geographic Scaling: Execute and scale geographical growth strategies, adapting successful playbooks from major metropolitan areas to accelerate growth in broader regional markets.
- Budget & Incentive Management: Manage new earner acquisition incentive budgets, designing seasonal campaigns while partnering with Legal and Marketing teams to ensure compliance and maximize return on investment.
What the Candidate Will Need
- Communication & Stakeholder Management: Professional fluency in English with exceptional stakeholder management skills to collaborate effectively with regional teams and cross-functional partners.
- Growth Marketing Experience: Proven experience in growth marketing, user acquisition, or strategic operations, with a strong bias for executing established playbooks and scaling processes.
- Data Analytics: Solid analytical foundation with comfort using basic data tools, specifically SQL and spreadsheets, to track campaign performance, analyze funnel metrics, and manage budgets.

- Language Skills: Business-level or native proficiency in Japanese is highly desirable to seamlessly navigate local market nuances and regional marketing initiatives.
- Advanced Data Skills: Advanced data skills and experience with tools like Python and Tableau to uncover deeper growth insights and automate reporting.
- AI Implementation: Experience in AI implementation, utilizing modern workflows and generative tools to optimize campaign tracking and streamline operational efficiency.
- Marketplace Budget Experience: Prior experience managing user acquisition budgets and incentive structures within a fast-paced, two-sided marketplace.
