About the Role

At Uber, we're building the future of mobility and delivery, and behind every innovation is a world class compliance function that keeps our global operations moving.

As a Senior Regulatory & Compliance Specialist, you'll play a critical role in enabling Uber's international supply chain by ensuring goods move across borders efficiently, compliantly, and with minimal operational disruption.

You'll partner with teams across Logistics, Finance, Tax, Legal, and Operations to embed practical, scalable compliance solutions that support both day-to-day business and some of Uber's most exciting growth initiatives, including Autonomous Mobility & Delivery (AMD) and advanced technology programs.

This is an opportunity to join a high performing global team where your expertise will directly influence operational excellence, strengthen compliance frameworks, and help solve complex cross-border challenges in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

What You'll Do

  • Manage day to day import, export, customs, and restricted party screening activities to ensure the compliant movement of goods across global markets.

  • Review and resolve trade compliance transactions, including tariff classifications, shipment documentation, country of origin determinations, customs valuation, and system-generated compliance exceptions.

  • Provide trusted regulatory and trade compliance advice to cross-functional partners across Logistics, Finance, Tax, Legal, and Operations.

  • Oversee customs broker relationships, licensing activities, compliance monitoring, audit support, and regulatory recordkeeping requirements.

  • Drive continuous improvement across trade compliance processes through automation, systems enhancements, training initiatives, and scalable operational controls.

  • Identify opportunities to reduce compliance risk while enabling efficient and commercially practical business outcomes.

  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of Uber's global trade compliance program by supporting strategic initiatives and process optimisation.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3–5 years' experience in trade compliance, customs brokerage, international logistics, or a related regulatory or operational compliance role.

  • Experience managing import customs or trade operations within high-technology industries such as electronics, semiconductors, robotics, advanced manufacturing, or similar environments.

  • Strong working knowledge of international trade compliance principles, including HTS/ECCN classification, Country of Origin, Incoterms, and Restricted Party Screening.

  • Experience working closely with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and external logistics providers.

  • Hands-on experience with Global Trade Management (GTM) systems such as Oracle GTM or similar enterprise platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

We're particularly interested in candidates who bring:

  • Experience with U.S. trade regulations, including EAR, ITAR, OFAC sanctions, and U.S. import requirements. Exposure to customs regulations across APAC, EMEA, or Latin America is highly regarded.

  • A proactive, solutions focused mindset with the ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a high volume operational environment.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical guidance for business stakeholders.

  • Confidence working in a fast moving, evolving environment where adaptability and collaboration are essential.

  • A bachelor's degree in International Trade, Supply Chain, International Business, Logistics, Trade Law, or a related discipline.
