Enterprise Sales Executive, Grocery & Retail - Romania

Sales, Business Development
in Bucharest, Romania

About the Role

We are launching Uber Eats in Romania and expanding into retail partnerships from day one.

This is an early-stage market with exceptional growth potential, and this role is about far more than closing deals—it’s an opportunity to help build a foundational pillar of Uber’s future in Romania from the ground up. You’ll operate in a fast-moving, high-impact environment where priorities evolve quickly and solutions often need to be created in real time.

Sales at Uber means navigating ambiguity, earning trust fast, and solving problems that don’t come with a script. It’s not about pushing a product—it’s about building long-term partnerships in a fast-changing environment. If you’re resilient, resourceful, and energized by the messy reality of doing big things, this is where you’ll grow. However, if you prefer highly predictable routines, clear playbooks, and structured environments, this high-stakes launch role may not be the right fit for you.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and grow long-term partnerships by understanding what matters most to Romanian grocery and retail merchants - focusing on mutual value rather than transactional sales.

  • Navigate the messiness of shifting priorities and internal complexity to unlock value for both your clients and Uber.

  • Identify, pitch, and close complex deals with senior stakeholders, managing the full sales cycle from initial outreach to operational launch.

  • Adapt your sales approach based on shifting market dynamics and imperfect information, operating without a predefined playbook in the Romanian retail landscape.

  • Collaborate across operations, marketing, and legal teams to shape proposals, resolve blockers, and deliver solutions that scale.

  • Manage your pipeline with urgency and discipline, staying resilient through tough negotiations and the inevitable “no.”

  • Communicate clearly, negotiate confidently, and manage pricing pushbacks to secure stakeholder support and establish trusted partnerships.

  • Track execution details and follow through on promises even when things get hectic, ensuring real-world operational impact.

Basic Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in B2B enterprise sales, specifically within retail, FMCG, marketplaces, or franchise networks.

  • Proficiency in both Romanian and English (written and verbal).

  • Experience managing complex sales cycles and consistently delivering against commercial targets.

  • Experience in negotiation, deal-making, and securing alignment from senior business stakeholders.

  • Experience with data literacy, including using data insights to analyze market trends and influence client decisions.

  • Experience collaborating with managers of major enterprises and building external strategic relationships.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated grit and resilience, with a history of staying motivated and high-performing in ambiguous or fast-changing environments.

  • Deep familiarity with the Romanian grocery market, retail environment, or franchise systems.

  • Strong systems thinking, with the ability to understand how individual deals impact the broader Uber ecosystem (Rides, Eats, Direct).

  • Proven capability to work effectively across multiple internal functions to unblock complex sales processes.

  • Proficiency in navigating CRM tools, specifically Salesforce.
