About the Role

The position of Ethics & Compliance Senior Specialist reports to the Ethics & Compliance Senior Manager in Brazil and is responsible for supporting ethics and compliance processes throughout the country that ensure a culture of integrity enabling Uber to conduct its global business with the highest ethical standards, in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and our own Business Conduct Guide and other policies.  The responsibilities include reviewing regularly and improving our ethics and compliance program to ensure it remains current with respect to significant risks, developments, and trends.

What the Candidate Will Do

Policies and Procedures:

· Support in the development of future policies and procedures for the region as well as guidelines as requested by business.

· Review, interpretation, update and execution of our policies and Corporate and Local procedures

Training and Communication:

· Support Training curriculum for new and current Uber employees

· Continuous execution of the Compliance education program

· Supporting training activities related to commercial partners and vendors

· Regular communication of the Ethics and Compliance principles to foster ongoing awareness in the employees about the importance of compliance with Uber's highest standards of ethics and integrity

· Support the development of a local plan of communication to promote in Uber’s employees the use and access to the Compliance site to review and know the different regional and local procedures and policies relevant to the business

Day-to-day Advice:

· Ensure that our Compliance and Ethics program provides effective prevention and detection of potential misconduct that could result in compliance or ethics violations

· Support business activities such as reviewing commercial partnerships, donations and sponsorships, and the launch of new products while ensuring Compliance with Policies and Laws and Regulations

· Provide appropriate guidance and partner with the different business units and functional areas

· Provide accountability, governance and speed with promotion of ethical decision-making processes

Monitoring:

· Support follow up initiatives aiming to assure compliance with the policies and procedures that include but are not limited to anti-corruption, gifts and entertainment, employee disclosures, promotional activities, expenses and COI.

---- Basic Qualifications ----

Qualifications:

·  A minimum of five years experience, with exposure to compliance issues gained in a comparable function in government, law firm or in-house law department, finance, internal controls, internal audit or forensic audit departments.

·  University degree from an accredited college, preferably in the fields of Law, Engineering, Financing, or Accounting.

·  Conceptual knowledge of technology systems and programs is preferred, experience with learning management systems a plus.

· Critical thinking and problem solving skills, with the ability to find creative solutions and applications to Uber's local and global challenges.

·  Must be proficient with Google and/or MS Suite

·  Must be proficient in both English and Portuguese, with at least intermediate knowledge of Spanish.

·  Able to build and maintain key relationships with both internal and external customers
