Senior Strategy & Operations Associate

Operations
New York, New York |
San Francisco, California
Full Time

About the Role

We’re looking for a highly analytical, proactive, collaborative, top-tier operator to join the Global Membership and Loyalty team as a Senior Strategy & Operations Associate. This role is central to advancing several of Uber’s key near-term strategic objectives within both Membership and Loyalty.

The successful candidate will be the single-threaded operational leader of key strategic verticals across our Membership and Loyalty pillars. You’ll turn external and internal data into actionable insights, earn buy-in for your initiatives from Uber at-large, and turn ideas into actions that move real-world business metrics.

In this role, you’ll step in as the definitive owner of a major strategic pillar. You will be expected to run your vertical like your own business – identifying opportunities, defining the roadmap, and executing with purpose and speed. This is a role designed for a highly independent operator who thrives under high-level oversight rather than day-to-day management, and who can reliably take complex initiatives and run with them.

What the Candidate Will Do

  • Own a Strategic Pillar End-to-End: Take complete ownership of a dedicated operational vertical, driving strategy, execution, and business outcomes.
  • Operate with Autonomy: Proactively identify business gaps, formulate strong points of view, and build actionable strategies without needing a predefined roadmap or step-by-step instructions.
  • Execute Data-Driven Initiatives: Extract, synthesize, and leverage data to build business cases and “will” your initiatives into existence.
  • Drive Cross-Functional Action: Navigate ambiguity to rally stakeholders and drive projects forward effectively.
  • Provide Executive Visibility: Independently manage highly visible recurring processes and lead executive-level reporting cadences (MBRs/QBRs) to give leadership clear, high-level oversight of your pillar's performance.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in strategy, operations, analytics, consulting, or a similar role, with a demonstrated track record of owning end-to-end execution with minimal oversight
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative, business, technical, or related field
  • Proficiency with AI tools, SQL, and Excel/Google Sheets; experience building dashboards and reports

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bias for action and extreme ownership; comfortable managing initiatives with high visibility and independently unblocking yourself when challenges arise
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to distill raw data into insights and recommendations
  • Proactive, “self-starter” mindset, high level of comfort with ambiguity and driving initiatives from 0 to 1 under high-level guidance rather than day-to-day management. Not only can you develop a strong POV and strategy on what needs to be done, you can also will it into existence.
  • Strong communicator and collaborator; able to drive initiatives forward effectively alongside a wide cast of cross-functional partners
  • Track record of surfacing insights that influenced strategy or drove business impact
  • Demonstrated ability to support executive-level reporting cadences (MBRs/QBRs)
  • Exposure to external partnership management and/or business development
