About the Role

Uber Advertising's Strategic Insights team is seeking a passionate storyteller and process innovator to lead the development of scalable global thought leadership initiatives that elevate our market positioning. This role combines deep data analytics,market research expertise, comfort in navigating syndicated research and consumer sentiment data to create compelling white papers and industry reports that resonate with advertising clients and their executive teams.

You will own the roadmap for developing scalable thought leadership, managing the entire lifecycle from identifying research priorities and defining methodology to executing the research and building impactful go-to-market plans with our internal partners.Working closely with Sales, Strategy, Marketing, and Tech teams, you'll transform complex data from multiple sources into strategic narratives that drive business decisions and position Uber Advertising as a thought leader in the industry.

What You'll Do:

Research Leadership & Thought Leadership Development

  1. Lead the conception, design, and execution of large-scale research initiatives that combine first-party platform data with 3rd party research and consumer sentiment studies to create comprehensive market narratives.
  2. Develop clear research objectives and manage third-party vendor relationships, holding vendors accountable to methodology standards and deliverable quality.
  3. Create and document scalable research frameworks, analysis workflows, and narrative templates that enable 1-2 team members to independently produce high-quality thought leadership content.
  4. Build repeatable processes for transforming complex data into compelling white papers and industry reports targeted at advertising clients and C-suite stakeholders.

Process Innovation & Automation Leadership

  1. Architect automated data integration workflows that streamline the combination of first-party behavioral data with syndicated research findings.
  2. Leverage AI tools and emerging technologies to scale insight generation, pattern recognition, and preliminary analysis processes.
  3. Design and implement systematic approaches to research planning, vendor management, data analysis, and content creation that can be easily replicated.
  4. Create comprehensive documentation and training materials that enable team scaling and knowledge transfer.

Strategic Client Engagement & Presentation Excellence

  1. Transform analytical findings into executive-level presentations and reports that drive strategic decisions for both internal stakeholders and external advertising clients.
  2. Present complex consumer behavior insights and market dynamics to client leadership teams in compelling, actionable formats.
  3. Build relationships with external advertising clients through thought leadership content that demonstrates Uber's unique consumer insights and market understanding.
  4. Collaborate cross-functionally to develop research narratives that support business development and retention efforts.

Team Leadership & Capability Building

  1. Establish quality control processes and review procedures to ensure consistent, high-quality deliverables across all team outputs.
  2. Foster a culture of innovation, organization, and continuous improvement within the insights team.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4+ years' experience in consumer insights, data analytics, market research, or strategic consulting with demonstrated experience analyzing 1st and 3rd party research data and/or consumer sentiment studies
  • 3+ years' experience leading cross-functional projects, managing vendor relationships, and developing scalable research frameworks or processes
  • End-to-End research ownership (i.e., managing research vendors, writing questionnaires, data analysis, report writing)
  • Exceptional presentation skills with demonstrated ability to translate complex analytical findings into compelling narratives for executive audiences
  • Basic proficiency in SQL or similar programs
  • Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6+ years’ experience in consumer insights, data analytics, market research, or strategic consulting with demonstrated experience analyzing 1st and 3rd party research data and/or consumer sentiment studies
  • Advertising industry experience working with brand clients, media agencies, or advertising platforms
  • Third-party research vendor management experience, including study design, objective setting, and quality assurance
  • Thought leadership content creation experience (white papers, industry reports, speaking engagements)
  • Experience with AI tools for data analysis, content creation, or process automation
  • Experience with syndicated research tools (e.g., GWI, YouGov Profiles).
  • Strong bias toward action - comfortable challenging stakeholders and asking difficult questions to drive better outcomes
  • Solutions-oriented mindset with ability to see problems from multiple perspectives and create innovative approaches
  • Experience presenting to C-suite executives or senior client stakeholders
  • Sales experience or close collaboration with sales teams as primary stakeholders

For Chicago, IL-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$122,000 per year - USD$135,500 per year.

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$135,000 per year - USD$150,000 per year.

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$135,000 per year - USD$150,000 per year.

For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
