Senior Operations Manager, Airports
We are looking for an individual who has strong operational and analytical skills, as well as strategic business sense. In this role, you will manage our local airport operations and own and develop initiatives to drive growth and operational efficiencies related to airports, from the rider and driver experience to pricing and external partners management.

Our Operations team operates where Uber's technology meets the real world.
We own the local business and set and execute the strategy for our markets in Northern Europe - Netherlands, Sweden, Belgium, Ireland, Finland, Norway, Luxembourg, and Denmark. At the heart of what we do in Operations is solving problems. We use data, operational levers, and strategic product, process, and campaign launches to grow the business and ensure that Uber offers the most preferred, reliable, and convenient service across Northern Europe, anytime and anywhere.
What you’ll do
This role sits in the Marketplace & Rider team within our Operations group. Our team is responsible for growing our rider business, ensuring smooth marketplace operations, and continuously improving Uber’s experience for our riders and drivers.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Operations Manager, who will own the performance and growth of our Airports business - increasing the number and frequency of riders who use Uber for airport trips and improving the airport experience across our 8 countries.
You will develop and execute data-driven strategies, campaigns, and launches to grow our Airports business; help build relationships and negotiate agreements with external airport partners; and manage airport performance, including marketplace and operational execution.
These are some of the activities you can expect in your day-to-day:
- Set the vision, define the strategy and lead the execution and operations to grow the airport business
- Own external airport partnerships, working closely with our Local Country Operations team to develop the partnership strategy, as well as lead commercial discussions and represent Uber in these external engagements
- Own airport performance across the region, setting targets on growth and experience, and then designing and deploying operational levers (e.g. campaigns, pricing, incentives, process and product launches) to deliver improvements
- Analyze market trends and deep dive into real-time and historical data to identify opportunities, track competition, and optimize Uber’s position across airports
- Collaborate with a variety of teams, such as other Operations teams, Legal, Product, Business Development, etc., to roll out new initiatives and work towards business goals
What you’ll need
Preferred qualifications
- Relevant experience: You have 5+ years of relevant professional experience
- Willingness to travel: You will visit our major airports to meet with external airport partners and to better understand the on-the-ground operations at the airports to identify opportunities
- Business acumen: You have strong business judgment, capable of recommending paths forward that factor in thorough analytical thinking, consumer insights, and practical strategy
- Project management: You have demonstrated your ability to lead initiatives within your organization with robust, structured execution and are skilled in managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Problem solving: You like to solve problems - you can quickly identify and break down complex problems in a structured way, using critical thinking and data-backed insights to develop pragmatic solutions
- Communication: You have clear verbal and written communication skills and can story-tell, persuade, and negotiate with diverse audiences, especially senior leaders and external partners
- Executional excellence: You can work in a fast paced environment where you will execute on a range of initiatives to produce commercial impact, from continuous improvement efforts to discrete programs to one-off escalation sprints
Bonus qualifications
- Growth mindset: You are a proactive learner with a “can-do” attitude - you can pick up skills and knowledge quickly and are excited to become the Airports expert within the team
- Data-savvy: You are comfortable working with data sets using Excel, Google Sheets, etc. and connecting metrics to the real world. Through data, you can validate issues, derive actionable insights, and generate recommendations. Fluency in SQL is a strong plus (prior knowledge of SQL is not required but you will be expected to learn it ASAP once you join)
- Collaboration: You have a collaborative mindset and can coordinate and communicate effectively with a mix of cross-functional teams and stakeholders to move initiatives forward
- Language: Professional fluency in one of our region’s local languages: Dutch, Swedish, French, Finnish, Norwegian, or Danish
