About the Team

Our CommOps org has built a solid and robust network at scale, delivering admirable cost savings and efficiency to Uber business, our goal is and will remain to utilise our expertise further to continue delivering added business value with scalable operations, of the highest quality to improve customer experience and to enable Uber operations to grow efficiently. One of the key areas of work in Krakow  Centre of Excellence is Payments Compliance. The Compliance team works directly with Uber Payments Entity and EMEA Program Payments Compliance Team to manage and support the Anti Money Laundering activities required by Financial regulators to retain our payments license. Our Payments Compliance organization in Krakow COE is composed of Customer Due Diligence, Sanctions Screening, and Transaction Monitoring teams. Our teams provide support to allow Uber to adhere to EU & UK payments and anti-money laundering regulations for all partners in the EEA & UK. Our team’s goal is to prevent users who participate in money laundering and other forms of financial fraud and misdemeanors from committing a crime on the Uber platform.

About the Role

As Senior Team Leader of the Payments Compliance team, you will be leading, motivating, and developing a Team located in Krakow and delivering work around multiple LOBs such as KYC/KYB, Enhanced Due Diligence, Transaction Monitoring, and Sanctions Screenings. Most of your actions will hinge on the following core and essential capabilities: People Management, Program Management, Stakeholder Management, Continuous Improvement, and Efficiency. You will manage Team Leaders of PayComp Team. You will be responsible for the creation & successful achievement of the operational KPIs and ensuring they’re appropriately reported and communicated. You will shape the organisational and operational structure of the PayComp team to ensure it is set up for the highest levels of efficiency and output delivery quality. You will proactively lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team within a fast-paced and exciting environment to deliver on operational KPIs. You will be in charge of the Team morale & engagement, infusing the Uber culture, promoting its core values, and ensuring the crew evolves in a positive working atmosphere. You will manage the enforcement of policies, prepare communications, and ensure they are accurately distributed and understood whenever needed. You will guide Team Leaders to develop as talented people managers and help them build development plans, making sure each of their direct reports find the development opportunities that suit them best. You will assist Team Members, facilitating their work, answering questions, and removing impediments. You will mentor Talents towards continuous improvements, helping them grow and achieve operational excellence.

What You Will Do

Leadership

  • Develop curiosity, and continuous improvement mindset within the team

  • Manage and help develop your teammates
  • Facilitate and assist team members to achieve operational excellence through consistent performance management and feedback sharing.

Development

  • Helping organize the onboarding of new team members and cross-trainings
  • Be a mentor for new team members when they join the team
  • Consistently drive the development of individuals and team skillset, ensure Personal Development Plans are in place

Operations

  • Point of contact for the team and liaison between the Team, Program and Stakeholders
  • Queue management - help manage scheduling and priorities to make sure the queue stays under control at all times
  • Quality management - facilitating QA and close-the-loop talks
  • Ensure achievement of agreed KPIs at the team and program level
  • Administration and Workforce Management for shift and holiday planning in collaboration with WFM.
  • ​​Track the progress of projects and initiatives, understand dependencies, communicate status to senior leadership and stakeholders, and facilitate and coordinate schedules for meetings either locally or across sites.
  • Execute Back to Health Plans
  • Design and coordinate the implementation of improvement initiatives in the assigned work areas.
  • Help to execute the Efficiency, Tech Solutions and KRK COE Payments Compliance roadmap.
  • Lead internal projects as well as support Program project executions
  • Drive for excellence and do not accept status quo
  • High focus on continuous improvements
  • Ensure correct forecasting and hiring

Analytics

  • Consolidate and structure business insights for Business Reviews
  • Analyze data to be able to drive team performance and provide insights and areas for improvement
  • Laverage AI and Tech solutions to increase workflows efficiency

What You Will Need

  • A willingness to learn and grow in the role, using your strengths while working on your development areas under the guidance of your Manager
  • A passion for developing your team, so that they can achieve their potential.
  • You have 2+ years of experience leading and managing a team. You understand how to motivate teams and people in an exciting and ambiguous environment. You put your team first and are their most passionate advocate.
  • Exceptional communication skills. Your communication style is flexible to the situation. From communicating updates to your team, to discussing metrics with key stakeholders, or presenting to leadership, you communicate clearly and with a purpose.
  • An excellent understanding of Uber’s organizational structure, between the multiple verticals and sectors of the company (Ops, CommOps, Legal, etc)
  • A passion of process improvement and optimization. You're excited about the opportunity to create and experiment with new solutions, and are willing and able to lead others in utilising them.
  • A data-driven and analytical mindset. You can look at any spreadsheet and know the right questions to ask to get to actionable outcomes, and you know how to explain data in a digestible way.
  • Calm under pressure. You have exceptional organisational skills, integrity, and great follow-through on tasks.
  • Natural curiosity and an open mind. You love learning how things work, and you're always looking for innovative improvements. You enjoy testing different support strategies and tracking the results.
  • Comfortable & confident in taking on risks that are key to effective decision making and the growth of your LOB
